The first levels of Master Technician Training (MTT) provides the basic knowledge necessary to prepare for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field, including math skills, customer relations, and business management for technicians. Early on our students are exposed to technical training in electricity and controls.
Additional courses provide training in gas, oil, and electric heating system installation and service. After completion, the student will be proficient in residential heating system installation and service including furnaces, boilers, and ductwork and the applicable codes. Students, upon completion of these course are able to test for basic oil and gas licenses.
This level of training involves training in refrigerants, residential cooling systems and air distribution. After completion, the technician will be proficient in residential cooling system installation and service. Includes Refrigerant Certification test for the federal EPA license.
After completion of all coursework and required hands-on experience, the technician will be certified as an HVAC/R Master Technician.
Experienced technicians can challenge the MTT program, utilizing knowledge gained over the years and work experience for Master Technician Certification. Most courses can be taken individually to refresh and enhance HVAC knowledge.
