The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act was passed by Congress and signed into law to provide economic relief from COVID-19. One section of the CARES Act established the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) and sent money to schools to use for emergency financial aid grants to students for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the pandemic.

*The Department of Education has defined eligible students are students that could be eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA), may receive the Emergency Financial Aid Grant. If a student has filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), then the student has demonstrated eligibility to participate in programs under Section 484 the HEA. Students who have not filed a FAFSA but who are eligible to file a FAFSA also may receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants. The criteria to participate in programs under Section 484 of the HEA include but are not limited to the following: U.S. citizenship or eligible noncitizen; a valid Social Security number; registration with Selective Service and a high school diploma or GED.
An acknowledgement that the institution signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

Professional Internship III & IV (HVAC/R Employees)

2nd year night students who are currently employees working in the field use their daily work experience for internship credit.
The HVAC/R Service Technician Training program consists of 900 clock hours of instruction and HVAC/R internship. Each of the subjects will be covered in theory and practical work. Each course taught specializes in a field of study that prepares and develops the students’ understanding in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Trade. Competency-based performance – tested curricula ensures students will not only understand the technical information, but will also be able to perform all related skills. Admissions requirements: Valid driver’s license, high school diploma/ GED, $30.00 registration fee, and ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug tests.. Students that are using financial aid for tuition must complete their FAFSA application during pre-registration process at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Tuition and tool funding options: Federal financial aid, worker retraining grants, WIA and Trade Act through Worksource, GI Bill® and Post 911, Tribal vouchers, Vocational Rehabilitation, and self- payments.
